Dear Facilitator Family,
As our Stronger Together momentum continues following the Kenya gathering last fall, we are grateful for the new connections being formed and the encouragement being shared across our global trauma healing community. Every conversation, gathering, and collaboration reminds us that God designed us to grow stronger together.
Hebrews 10:23–25 (GNT) encourages us:
"Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess, because we can trust God to keep his promise. Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together...Instead, let us encourage one another."
These words beautifully capture the heart of our Community of Practice gatherings. As facilitators, we are strengthened when we come together to learn, pray, share experiences, and encourage one another in this ministry. Please join us in praying for our upcoming Community of Practice events:
🌱 South Pacific - Fiji (June 16-18)
🌱 North America - Philadelphia, PA (September 29 - October 1)
🌱 Armenia (October 12-14)
🌱 Latin America - Bolivia (October 15-17)
🌱 Middle East and North Africa - Jordan (November 5-7)
🌱South Asia - Bangladesh (December 2-3)
🌱 Central Asia - Kyrgyzstan (December 5-12)
Details for these gatherings are available on our Events webpage. We would love to see you if you're able to attend, and many of these events offer online participation options for those who cannot join in person. If you are hosting a local or regional Community of Practice event and would like it added to our Events page, here's how to do it.
Through your faithful ministry of trauma healing, hope is reaching people in communities around the world. Thank you for continuing to be instruments of God's healing, encouragement, and restoration.

Cadeau - DRC
Cadeau from the Democratic Republic of the Congo attended a healing group. She says: "Before joining this group, I felt like my heart was going to stop, I was so overwhelmed by worries. I carried it all alone, without knowing how to find a solution.
But as the program progressed, especially during the second to last module where we wrote all our |

problems on a piece of paper and then burned it while singing, something happened that day that will remain unforgettable. I understood that I don't have to carry my burden alone: I must lay it at the cross, for it is by His wounds that I am healed.
We also had precious time where everyone could speak freely, without judgment. I was particularly touched to be truly listened to. I sincerely thank our facilitators and our entire team for the moments of listening, sharing, and support. You pulled me out of a hole from which I couldn't see any way out. Now, I see things differently. I am familiar with the healing process and I am determined to help those who are suffering around me." |

Alexei - Russia
Alexei* is a nurse who lives in a remote village on Russia’s far Arctic
frontier—one of the most remote places on earth. He had lost nearly everyone he loved—his wife during childbirth, his grandmother and |

brothers during the pandemic, and his father, who went missing. “I found myself completely alone in the world,” he says.
Then God began working in an unexpected way. In Kyrgyzstan, a surgeon had completed Bible Society training in trauma healing and later posted an invitation in a doctors’ group chat for a trauma healing course. Alexei saw the message and joined out of curiosity.
“Before this, I had never read the Bible or gone to church,” he explains. But during the sessions, he discovered something he had never expected. “The Bible contains passages that speak of comfort and support that help us cope with inner pain,” he says. “This was a big revelation for me.”
As he continued with the course, hope began to replace grief. He shares: “Those meetings became like a breath of fresh air for me. I was able to see my loss from another perspective. I can truly say, ‘I am happy.’”
Though there is no church in his village, Alexei meets with a small group of believers in a home, where they study and discuss the Bible together. He continues to experience the miracle of healing in community. |

Honoring Rev. Ismaïl Kanani |
|
|
|
It is with deep gratitude that we honor the life and legacy of Rev. Ismaïl Kanani, General Secretary of the Bible Society of Sudan.
Frederick Barasa, Director of Global Partnerships for the Trauma Healing Institute, reflects: “In 2012, Rev. Ismaïl Kanani was arrested and imprisoned for three months after choosing not to go into exile, believing the Sudanese church needed his continued presence and service. He remained a passionate advocate for trauma healing and...personally facilitated healing groups at the Anglican Church in Cairo, helping hundreds encounter Christ in new ways. I will always cherish the many memories of our ministry together.”
We join in prayer for God’s comfort for all who mourn this profound loss, and we give thanks for Rev. Kanani’s faithful life and the countless lives he touched. |
