It’s been five years since our last in-person Global Community of Practice gathering, which makes this one coming up in October extra special. The theme is “Stronger Together: A global community of practice event for connection, sharing and empowerment.” 

The program will include workshops led by facilitators from around the globe centered around Trauma Healing best practices, building connections with one another, and empowering growth of local, regional, and organizational Communities of Practice.

Navigating Global Crises and Building Resilience 

The Trauma Healing International Community of Practice gathered in Lagos, Nigeria on February 19-20. This meeting was hosted by the Bible Society of Nigeria and included representatives from the Bible Societies of Burkina Faso, Chad, Ghana, Niger, Mali, Cameroon, Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya and South Sudan, along with American Bible Society. 

It was a valuable time of discovering new opportunities for collaboration across West Africa, to increase the already tremendous momentum of trauma healing growth in the region. Thank you to all who joined us! We look forward to next year’s meeting in February 2026.

Beyond Disaster download in Burmese and Thai

Our hearts and prayers are with all of those impacted by the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. The loss of life is heartbreaking. We pray God's comfort and peace to the people of these countries.  

One of the ways we can help bring recovery to the families and communities affected is through the downloadable Beyond Disaster booklet that is available in Burmese (also in many other languages and will be available in Thai in a few weeks).

Prayer Requests

Please take a few moments to lift up these requests from your brothers and sisters in the THI Global Community of Practice:

• Pray for the men in prisons that we serve, as they go through the book together and begin the process of healing. Prayers for Helping Our Returning Neighbors that facilitates this class as well. 

• Pray for our local regions to be open and for trauma healing facilitators to come alive, start healing groups and to grow, and that our churches become hospitals for the wounded and hurt. 

• Pray for the THI staff members and team to be led by the Lord as we develop new programs, work on revisions and translations, and engage with the current and future COPs. Pray for strength, wisdom, creativity, and protection for all of us.

• Pray for all involved with our GCOP event in Kenya, and for the upcoming regional COPs—for guidance in planning, for strengthening of existing and formation of new connections with each other, and for safe travels.
