Welcome to the first edition of Help, Healing, and Hope

You are receiving this newsletter because you’ve viewed or downloaded one of our resources over the last year. Whether you’re new to THI and looking for tools to help with your own healing journey, or an experienced healing group facilitator, we want to keep you up to date with new resources we’re releasing this year and tips to use our existing resources for yourself and others in your life.

The Journey of Healing

If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look at The Journey of Healing video. When you’ve gone through something really difficult, the healing process can take a long time — and it almost never looks the way we expect it to. This 90-second video offers perspective and encouragement for those on a journey of healing.

What's New

A note for healing group facilitators: The Journey of Healing is the third video in the Trauma and Healing video series. It fits well into the "Looking Back, Looking Forward" lesson of the Healing the Wounds of Trauma program.

Here’s a link to the playlist for all three videos.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is not easy, but it is possible.

This free resource explains forgiveness as both a decision and an ongoing process. It can help you take the first step toward forgiving someone who has hurt you.

Resource feature: disaster response

The Reconnect with Carmen LaBerge recently featured THI's Executive Director, Rebecca Taguma. Listen to the segment "Gospel healing from the effects of trauma" starting at 28:28.

Carmen asks Rebecca, "How can we find healing from trauma when we're living in the aftermath of a disaster like the California wildfires?" THI's Beyond Disaster resources are biblically-based and can be used by anyone who needs help coping after a natural or man-made disaster.

You can access digital versions of all our disaster response materials on the website, including Helping People after a Disaster, which equips you to use Beyond Disaster with people in crisis.
